Frequently Asked Questions
1. Will you sponsor me?
We receive an incredibly large volume of requests and can only extend sponsorships to a select few. Unfortunately, we are not granting any new sponsorships at this time. If new sponsorship opportunities become available in the future, we will make an announcement on our Facebook page. Individuals that we sponsor receive product only, we do not give cash. They receive only Running Roan Tack brand products (headstalls, breast collars, miscellaneous tack products). We do not give other products that we carry (Classic Equine, Cowgirl Tuff Co, etc) to individuals that we sponsor.
2. Can I come shop at your store?
We are mobile and online only, we do not have a brick and mortar store. However, we can accomodate you if you are in the Canby, Oregon area and you want to pick up an item rather than have it shipped. To do this, please contact us to make an appointment.
If you would like to shop and see what we have, it is best if you can come see us at an event or check out our website. We store a large amount of inventory in the tack trailer and it's much easier to see everything when it is unloaded and merchandised at a show.
We also operate a leather shop where we make our line of custom leather goods by hand from scratch. Please understand that our shop is not available for tours. We do not give leatherworking instruction or accept apprentices, paid or unpaid.
3. How fast will my order be shipped?
Orders are processed and shipped within 24-48 hours (excluding Saturdays and Sundays) after they are placed. If we are away vending at an event, we will try our best to get your order shipped as quickly as possible. Most domestic orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail which delivers in 2-3 business days. Larger items (saddle pads, cowboy boots, hats) are shipped by UPS Ground. If we are out of stock on an item, we will contact you by phone or email to update you on the status of your order.
4. Do you ship internationally?
Yes we do! International orders are shipped via USPS air mail.
5. What is your return policy?
We will gladly return or exchange items purchased from Running Roan Tack that are returned to us in brand new, unused condition (clothing must be unwashed). Customers will be credited for the purchase price of the item. For exchanges, we will ship the replacement item to you at no charge. We ask that you contact us before returning an item. RETURNS MUST BE RECEIVED WITHIN 14 DAYS OF PLACING YOUR ORDER. Returns can be sent to:

Our merchandise is inspected for defects upon arrival and again when packaged for shipping. If we missed something and your order contains a defect, please contact us so we can make it right.
If you experience a problem with your Running Roan Tack goodies, please let us know.
6. Do you take special or custom orders?
Yes we can! Just let us know what you'd like and we'll quote you a price.
7. Do I have to place my order online?
We know that not everyone is comfortable placing orders online, so we can take your order and information over the phone at 503-758-6614.
8. Can I pay by check or money order? We accept checks and money orders. Simply call us to put the items you want on hold, then send payment to:

Checks and money orders will be held until clear. Orders awating payment will be held for 10 days. If payment does not arrive within 10 days, items will be released from hold and offered for sale.
9. Do you charge sales tax on internet orders?
Nope! The state of Oregon remains sales tax free.
10. Do you offer gift shipping?
Yes we do! If you would like your purchase shipped directly to a gift receipient, simply enter YOUR name and address into the Buyer Address area and then enter THEIR name and address into the Shipping Address area at checkout. We will withhold the invoice from the box and ship the gift. Sorry, we do not offer gift wrapping at this time.
11. Do you sell wholesale?
No, we are strictly retail only. We do not wholesale our custom leather products either.
12. Do you take consignments or trades?
Sorry, we do not accept trades and we do not sell items on consignment. This includes saddles.
13. Do you sell your leather or supplies? Or can you tell me where you get it?
Sorry, we sell finished products only. We will not sell our supplies or pieces of our leather or scraps. Please do not ask us to share our sources.
14. Can you sell me blanks or plain items so I can paint or decorate own tack?
Sorry, we sell finished products only. We do not sell blanks. Once we finish our products, they are not suitable for further painting or tooling.
About Running Roan Tack
In 2002, Heather Zielinski enthusiastically combined her love of horses and interest in graphic/web design with her specialty retail and business experience to create a new venture. All the company needed was a name. The inspiration for the name of the business came from Heather's barrel horse, a fiesty red roan mare named "Myra". Tragically, Myra passed away suddenly on December 1, 2008. Heather and Myra had been a team since 1998 and she remains the namesake of the company.
In June of 2009, Running Roan Tack welcomed the addition of Power Pays, a bay roan AQHA gelding. Heather is enjoying a new journey with her new mount.
Running Roan Tack opened for business on September 9, 2002 and enjoyed a successful run on eBay gaining many loyal customers from around the globe. Originally developed as a concept store featuring Cowperson Tack, Running Roan Tack has grown to offer many brands of tack, as well as items to outfit riders too.
Today, Running Roan Tack focuses on developing a website providing a fun and secure online shopping experience in addition to operating a polished and professional mobile tack trailer. Keeping with her progressive attitude regarding life and horsemanship, Heather views the business as a continual work in progress. Running Roan Tack is proof that dedication, hard work, and an unremitting devotion to a dream really is worth it.
